A Day in the Life

Plants, plants, plants! I love them! Today Steve and I went on a marathon walk lasting about two hours. Ok, well it did last 2 hours, but Steve just looked up the mileage and it was about 4 miles, but let's just say there were some hills in there. We'll start off with the tulips. Our apartment complex does such an amazing job with the landscaping. Every year at this time they plant tulips, and they are just beautiful. We then walked to Pike's Nursery for a pot for the basil plant we got this past weekend. I could have bought every flower there. I especially loved the "eastern snowball" which reminded me of a hydrangea. As we were returning home, we wandered through an apartment complex that is right behind our Kroger at Toco Hills. At the back of the complex we found a trail and a huge park that we never knew existed... until we made it to the other side of the park and realized where we were. I've actually never been back to the WD Thompson Park, but it was quite beautiful. The trees were such a vibrant green! And we saw several cherry blossom trees... or at least that's what I think they are. If they're not, they're very similar. I love that the best view of a cherry blossom is from below the tree looking upward since the bloom hangs downward. So great. Reminds me of all the cherry blossom trees in Tacoma at UPS. But just let me say, as much as I love flowers, I equally hate pollen...

I seriously need some advice from Paige! I was a little too excited when I planted these seeds- or maybe I didn't fully trust that they would all sprout. So I have like 5-10 tomato plants coming up in each little group. And accidentally, I did the same thing with the marigolds. :-) At least we have signed up for Paige's CSA. So even if our tomatoes don't turn out well, we'll have her delicious tomatoes to eat every couple of weeks. http://www.serenbefarms.com/

This past weekend Steve and I found Harry's Farmer's Market. It's a cross between Dekalb farmer's market and Whole Foods. It's owned by Whole Foods so the prices aren't as cheap as a conventional farmer's market, but it had a great selection.

How could I not take a photo of these chips, which were in the British food section? Not sure which is my favorite? Steak and Onion... or maybe Prawn Cocktail? YUCK!

My collection of Basil cleaning products expanded this weekend. Makes me love cleaning even more!! :-)

Steve and I went out for sushi with Melissa and John on Saturday night before heading back to their condo for game night. Good times!

Delicious!

We also hung my cuckoo clock in our apartment this weekend. I finally brought it to Atlanta. I've been nervous about it getting damaged on the trip from Memphis to Atlanta. Luckily it made it safe and sound. This clock dates back to 2001 when my mom and I traveled to Switzerland. What an amazing trip!!
